LOVE AND LOGIC: EARLY CHILDHOOD PARENTING MADE FUN!™
CREATING HAPPY FAMILIES & RESPONSIBLE KIDS

This 5-week course on parenting young children is rooted in the “Love and Logic: Early Childhood Parenting Made Fun!” curriculum.  A variety of other evidence-based and parent-tested approaches are woven into the class in order to address the needs of various children and their parents’ parenting styles. Parenting styles that are incorporated include the teachings from Attachment Theory, Neuroscience, Dan Siegel, Alan Kazdin and Dan Hughes.

This parenting program helps parents reduce behavior problems and increase responsibility in children.  A large piece of this program is about improving family closeness and healthy relationships.

We address common trouble areas such as:

  • Getting ready in the mornings
  • Mealtimes
  • Getting kids to listen the first time
  • Ending power struggles
  • Making bedtime peaceful
  • Putting an end to yelling and whining (for the kids AND the parents!)

This Head & Heart Parents class is taught in an engaging and interactive style including story-telling, lecture, videos, group discussion, role-play and laughter. Parents have the opportunity to share and learn from one another, which usually leads people to feel like their challenges are more normal than they thought.

Facilitator: Kerry Stutzman, MSW, LMFT, Independent Facilitator of the Love and Logic Curriculum. Kerry has a private practice with a primary focus on parent coaching and family therapy. As the mother/stepmother of six children, Kerry teaches from the perspective of a real-life parent who is still “in the trenches”of raising delightful, challenging, aggravating and wonderful young people.

Kerry is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy, an Independent Facilitator of Love and Logic Curricula. She has trained in multiple approaches to working with couples and families including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialect Developmental Pychotherapy (DDP), The Gottman Method of Relationship Therapy, JourneyDance and others. She has extensive experience working with parents going through divorce, stepparenting, raising teens and young adults, and has a book in progress on staying sane while raising young children.  Kerry has been teaching Love and Logic parenting classes since 1999.

Who should attend? Parents, caregivers and educators of young children, ages 1-10.

Participants who attend all 10 hours will receive a Love and Logic certificate of completion.

~ Mother of 3 yr old girl
