Key Concepts Include:

  • Putting an end to arguing, backtalk and begging
  • How to stop yelling at your kids
  • Setting limits without waging war: enforceable statements
  • Ending power struggles with your kids
  • Getting kids to listen the first time
  • Helping kids cool down
  • What to do when you don’t know what to do

Facilitator: Kerry Stutzman, MSW, LMFT, Independent Facilitator of the Love and Logic Curriculum. Kerry has a private practice with a primary focus on parent coaching and family therapy. As the mother/stepmother of six children, Kerry teaches from the perspective of a real-life parent who is still “in the trenches”of raising delightful, challenging, aggravating and wonderful young people.

Kerry is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy, an Independent Facilitator of Love and Logic Curricula. She has trained in multiple approaches to working with couples and families including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialect Developmental Pychotherapy (DDP), The Gottman Method of Relationship Therapy, JourneyDance and others. She has extensive experience working with parents going through divorce, stepparenting, raising teens and young adults, and has a book in progress on staying sane while raising young children.  Kerry has been teaching Love and Logic parenting classes since 1999.

What Makes Kerry's Classes So Special?

There are lots of parenting classes to choose from, so why choose Kerry’s?

For starters, Kerry has the credentials: a master’s degree, a post-graduate degree in marriage and family therapy, and certification from the Love and Logic Institute. Secondly, Kerry has tenure: she was certified by Love and Logic in 1999 and has been teaching ever since. Thirdly, Kerry is the mother/stepmother of six, including five adolescent males who are in high school and college. She is “living the dream,” sharing the bathroom and refrigerator with five young men, not to mention her husband and teenage stepdaughter. Talk about real-life experience with a lot of different real-life kids. Kerry understands being a married stay-at-home mom, a single, working and going-to-school mom, and a happily married mom and stepmom with a whole herd of children.

When you take classes from Kerry, you get a Love and Logic certified instructor PLUS the wisdom and insight that comes from years of workshops and working with families and parents. You get to learn about how to meet your child’s emotional needs, how to get on the same page with your partner, and how to adjust techniques to fit the temperament of your individual child using your individual values. You also get to know a professional who could end up being your private parenting coach or counselor, should the need arise.
