We were feeling pretty good about ourselves - dare I admit, even a little smug - but it seems the nippers in our house have gained the upper hand. I start the day out donned in a referee uniform with a whistle (in order to mediate the endless slew of squabbles), and I typically finish the day hiding under the kitchen table while waving the white flag of surrender and calling my husband to beg him to come home and rescue me from his offspring.Mother
This class has taken away my stress, anger and frustration so I don’t go to bed feeling bad about my behavior with my kids.Father
Hi Kerry, I took your class last week at Aspen Academy. I started using the techniques that same day when I picked up my boys. I didn’t realize how much I actually yelled at my boys every day until my 9 year old said “Mom what’s going on with you? Why aren’t you yelling?” I have not yelled since. My 3 year old now goes to time out and stays in time out and all I have to say is uh oh. It was very reassuring to hear that you had the same struggles with your boys that I have with mine. I now make consequences that are realistic and logical rather than threating my boys with things that I would never do. My husband now see that importance of choices. Before this class he thought that kids should not be able to make choices. I picked up a love and logic book last night just to have reminders. In less than a week I can see the differences in our household especially between me and my oldest boy. This class has forever changed my relationship with my sons and I just wanted to thank you for the work that you do.Leah Benavidez
Kerry gave such good examples from her own parenting experiences. She knows what works because she's been there.
